Good to know

To load your digital driving license onto your phone, you need :

• Have an NFC-enabled smartphone, which enables you to make contactless payments with your phone;
• A new credit-card-sized CNI-e, the only document to support digital identity to date;
• ... and, of course, valid driving privileges.

It doesn't matter whether the license is in pink 3-part or credit card format.

Beforehand, you'll need to download the France Identité application onto your smartphone. Once the application is installed, the first step is to load your digital identity into the application so that your CNI appears on the screen: follow the procedure indicated for importing your digital identity. Importing your CNI data involves contactless reading of the card's chip by the phone (via the NFC protocol).

The procedure for obtaining the digital license is as follows:

On your computer:

1. Go to the "mes points permis de conduire" website and connect to the service using FranceConnect, or by creating an account with your e-mail address and password,
2. Once logged in, click on the "My documents" tab,
3. Download your Relevé d'Information Restreint du permis de conduire by clicking on the "Download my RIR" link,
4. The document is downloaded to the computer.

 

On your smartphone :

1. Open the France Identité application,
2. Click on "Scan a QR Code",
3. Scan the QR Code of the restricted information statement,
4. The driver's license is imported in a few seconds.

The license will be loaded into the France Identité application immediately if the driver's license and ID card information match. The France Identité application will not import the driver's license if there is an inconsistency between the data on the ID card and the data on the driver's license.
