Online services

You only need to register on the ANTS website if you wish to register for a new category.

The licence number (or NEPH number) is not a compulsory field when you submit your application online.

When you register for the code, you get an error message "date of birth problem for 00/00/19XX".

This date of birth format is not currently supported by some approved code operators.

This anomaly is therefore beyond our control and is the sole responsibility of these companies.

You should therefore contact these organisations to have your date of birth accepted.

They are:

  • Bureau Veritas, with Code n'Go
  • Dekra, with the Dekra Code
  • La Poste, with Passer mon code avec La Poste
  • Pearson Vue, with Point Code
  • SGS, with Objectif Code
  • Exa Code

What documents should I drive with while waiting for my new licence?

If your category is extended, you can continue to use your old licence.

You will be notified by email and text message as soon as the certificate is available.

Until you have this document, you are not allowed to drive a vehicle.

  • Case 1: Your application is at "Draft" status

Your online application can be edited or deleted as long as you have not validated it.

At this stage, you can change any of the information on the online application (except for the reason).

If the error relates to the reason, please delete your online application from your account dashboard and start all over. The reason cannot be edited.

  • Case 2: You have validated your application

If you have already validated your application online, it cannot currently be edited.

It has been sent to the government for processing, and they will get back to you if necessary.

All applications are deleted after 6 months.

To find out what supporting documents you need to apply for your driving licence, please consult the description of the service that applies to you.

You can use your ANTS account to make an online application for someone else who, for example, does not have Internet access.

When submitting the driving licence application, make sure you enter the third party's details and not your own.

In step 4, under the heading "Contact details", it is important to put in the details of the driving licence applicant. These details will be used to inform the applicant of the progress of their application.

When a request to print a document is made, it is sent in a secure envelope.

Applying for a driving licence online is a completely paperless process.

All the application’s supporting documents (identity document, proof of address, etc.) must be provided in digital format.

To digitise the documents, use:

  • A scanner
  • A smartphone

All you have to do is upload the photo of the supporting document to your online application.

Be careful with the quality and brightness of the images provided: Natural lighting is recommended. The following formats are accepted: JPG, PNG, BMP, TIFF and PDF.

The size of the document must not exceed 11MB.

Any supporting document that is not legible will be rejected and your application will be returned to you for revision.

This will increase the time taken to process the application.

Are you having problems scanning documents?

Points Numériques (digital help centres) and Maisons de Services Au Public (public service centres) equipped with scanners are available to help you with the process.

It is now possible to apply for a driving licence by providing a digital photo and signature.

Only approved professional photographers and photo booths can provide a photograph and signature in digital format. They can be identified by a blue sticker indicating "ANTS approved online services".

How is the digital photo-signature taken?

  • Nothing is changed about how the photograph is taken.
  • Write your signature using a stylus on a tablet or touchscreen.

As with a traditional photo session, you will be given a photo-signature sheet on which a 22-digit code is indicated.

When you fill out the driving licence application form online, all you have to do is enter this number to link the photo and signature to your file.

This code is only valid once. It can only be used for one application.

At stage 4 of your application, simply select the "I have a traditional passport-size photo" option.

When you have completed the application, you will need to print out the form with your photo and signature.

This document, to which you must affix your photo and sign your name, must be sent by ordinary post (not tracked or registered post) without any other letter or supporting documents, to the address shown on it.

If you have not saved your form, you can print it from your ANTS account.

In the "Your requests/applications"dashboard, select "View" from the drop-down menu.

The photo-signature document is available under the heading "Photo/signature of the person named on the document".

Before registering for the written test, you need to apply online via our ANTS website.

Once the application has been processed by the examining department, the NEPH code is activated and you can register for the written test.

However, a NEPH code can be deactivated for no particular reason. You then need to reactivate this code to register for the written test.

If the département is listed, this can be done on the website: https://www.demarches-simplifiees.fr/

If this is not the case, you should contact your local driving test authority. Generally, this is the Road Education Office (BER), which is part of a Departmental Territory Directorate (DDT).

Once this has been done, it takes 48 hours for the NEPH code to become active again.

You can apply online to convert your military licence.

All parts of the application are transmitted electronically: Vital records, photo, signature, and supporting documents.

To access this online service, all you need is an ANTS account, which you can use to carry out the necessary procedures.

To find out how to create an account, please see the FAQ “My account”.

To complete your request, you will need to select the reason:

  • “I am applying for a driving licence to be printed"
  • then "Military licence conversion".

and then select the category(-ies) earned.

What document is issued when the application is completed?

For an application to validate a military licence conversion, a receipt is issued for the application.

If the application does not include a photo-signature in digital format, it will also be possible to print out the photo-signature submission form once the online application has been completed.

What documents should I drive with while waiting for my new licence?

Until you receive your new driving licence, you can continue to drive military vehicles.

As far as driving a civilian vehicle is concerned, you will have to wait until you receive your new driving licence.

You can track all your applications from the dashboard in your space.

You can apply to have your driving licence corrected online. This service, available in all départements, allows you to apply for a correction to your driving licence.

All elements of the application are transmitted electronically. To access this online service, you need to have an ANTS account.

In step 1: Selecting the reason, choose "I would like to report an error on my driving licence received less than 6 months ago".

You must then enter the licence number and indicate the error found.

This online procedure can only be accessed from the user account. Driving schools are not authorised to carry out this procedure.

The online procedure is designed to enable you to have your document reprinted if you discover an error when you receive it.

This error may be:

  • a spelling mistake or typo in your vital records
  • a category added incorrectly or left off
  • an error in the validity date of the new document
  • a restriction (automatic transmission) or additional right (heavy trailer) that was left off

The photo and signature will be taken from the initial online procedure and cannot be changed.

Only documents printed via an online request can be corrected. If you have an old document that is incorrect, you must use the online procedure to request that it be reprinted if it has been damaged.

However, this procedure does not apply if you have:

  • received a document that is not yours
  • moved to another département since your initial application
  • made an initial application to exchange a foreign licence
  • applied for an International Driving Permit
  • received your document more than 6 months ago
  • a driving licence in the old format (not the "credit-card-sized" format).

There are several stages in the application process following a licence suspension.

  • Please apply once you have all your administrative documents, including the medical examination.
  • It is advisable to file this application 7 days before the end of the suspension.

How do I apply after a suspension?

  • You need to log in/create an account on our site
  • then click on "Apply for a driving licence"
    • The reason for the application to be selected will be: “Applying for a driving licence to be printed" > "Application following suspension of a driving licence"
